It´s not even been a full week and yet I feel like I´ve been here for 9 months. My feet definatly look like they´ve gone through the ringer. The best way to describe Alcobendas is like walking up the hill near my house, on legos 24/7. Pero, esta bien. Because my calves have NEVER looked better. My first day (Tuesday) we went straight out and went contacting, which was hard because I was sad because I had just said goodbye to all my loved ones en el CCM, and I was nervous and in a new area. However, I just put my shoulder to the wheel.
On Wednesday, everyone we had lessons with "fired" us, which means they cancelled, so it was contacting, after contacting. At one point just as I was about to loose it, we ran into a sweet angel from heaven. Zuli, she sat on the bench with us for an hour and a half and listened to our message. It was beautiful, I cried and told her how grateful i was for her. She believed anything we told her, without question. It was amazing. She was such a tender mercy from mi Padre Celestial.
My trainer, Hermana Bennett from Mapleton, is amazing. She is really helping me out, because if it wasn't for her I know for a fact I would sit on a bench for a couple hours. Just kidding...maybe. Missions are hard, in ways I did not expect them to be. However my trainer is way proud of me because I haven´t cried yet. So that´s good! We have a sweet investigator named Wellington who has a baptismal date for the 23 of agosto. So I´m so excited for that! We went to a baptism on Saturday for a man named Alan, he was a different set of sisters investigator.
I LOVE my district, and mi barrio. The office and AP elders are in my ward, and they are so funny, there is this one elder Sanchez who is from Spain who kills me, he will take my spanish fan and fan himself with it all the time! They´ve made me feel at home which is so nice. Also the people in mi barrio are amazing, my mission president said "The ward of Alcobendas are not only an example to the mission, but to the world." Its so true because, they ALWAYS are willing to help with lessons. Sometimes they´ll even go contacting with us. They blow me away.
Life as a missionary is so hard, but it´s so worth it. Me amo mi Salvador. Yo se que esta iglesia es verdadero. I know I am here for a reason. I miss you all, and you are always en mi prayers.
Con Amor,
